Help us shape the future of Grow Speke

28/04/2026

A wooden sign at the front reads “Grow Speke.” In the background, people are gathered around tables and activities on a sunny day, with houses and garden structures visible behind them.

As Grow Speke celebrates its ninth year; we’re going to be looking ahead and working with our community and partners to shape the next chapter.

On Thursday 21 May, 10am – 2.30pm, we’re inviting local residents, volunteers and community organisations to come along to a garden open day to share your views and help shape how Grow Speke develops in the years to come.

Why are we holding an open day?

Grow Speke has grown and changed over the last nine years, and now is the right time to reflect on what’s working well and where we can go next. Alongside Groundwork Cheshire, Lancashire and Merseyside, we want to make sure the garden continues to offer activities and opportunities that are beneficial to the local community.

This event is about listening to your views and planning together so Grow Speke can continue to meet local needs and make a real difference.

How do you get involved?

To make sure everyone has the space to contribute, the day will be split into two sessions:

  • 10am–12noon – Local residents and existing volunteers
  • 12.30pm–2.30pm – Community organisations and stakeholders

Who should attend?

  • Local residents who use or are interested in Grow Speke
  • Existing Grow Speke volunteers
  • Community and voluntary organisations
  • Local partners and stakeholders

By attending, you’ll have the chance to share your views on Grow Speke, help shape our future plans and the activities we deliver, and influence how the space is used.
