Become an SLH influencer
We want you to help us communicate in a way that’s engaging and helps our customers really understand our messages. Whether that’s on social media, by letter or an article in our Bulletin magazine, we want you to have an influence on what we say and how we say it!
What will I do as part of my role?
We may ask you to:
- Check if we have got the tone of our message right before we post on social media or our website, particularly on complex or contentious subjects.
- Review articles in our tenants’ magazine, Bulletin, and customer-facing documents like our Annual Report.
- Have a say on what articles we should include in our magazine.
- Take a look over standard letters that we are planning to send out to our customers.
- Look over flyers or posters and tell us if they are attention-grabbing and easy to understand.
- Let us know what you think we should be communicating to customers at certain times of the year, particularly national days/weeks that we take part in such as National Customer Services Week or Mental Health Awareness Week.
Who can join?
If you’re an SLH tenant, then you can join. All we ask is that you are not already involved in any other SLH engagement groups such as the Customer Services Committee, Scrutiny Panel or the SLH Board. This is because you will already have in-depth knowledge of our services which may influence your thoughts on how we communicate. Most of our tenants don’t have this in-depth knowledge, so they are the best people to let us know if our communications are clear and the messages are landing.
How does it work?
This is an informal group and most of your feedback would be gathered through surveys and emails. It’s very flexible in that you can review our communications at a time that suits you. You don’t have to review everything; you can get involved as much as or as little as you like.
