South Liverpool Homes (SLH) kicks off the new year by achieving Investors in People (IiP) Gold status - a coveted standard which demonstrates that our colleagues feel valued and proud to work for us.
Only 26% of organisations who hold IiP status achieve Gold which puts us in the top tier nationally. It means that we have got all the right policies and practices in place to ensure that our colleagues can achieve their true potential, but more than that, it means everyone – from the CEO to apprentice takes ownership for making the policies come to life.
The IiP report stated that ‘there is no doubt that the information and feedback from your people, the results of the IiP survey and the data you’ve provided, all combine to paint an overwhelmingly positive picture of SLH.’
SLH’s Chief Executive Anna Bishop, who joined the organisation twelve months ago, is delighted to achieve this award, “We have a brilliant team here at SLH and we know that investing in our colleagues who deliver services is another way of investing in the communities we serve. We share a clear vision and core values which are fully embedded across the organisation and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where colleagues can truly be themselves and everyone has the same opportunity to reach their full potential.
“However, this is not about a badge of honour - it’s an affirmation that we are on the right track with our colleague engagement programme which gives everyone the opportunity to have their voices heard, and it will be fundamental in helping us to shape our future plans and identify areas where we can do even better
Other comments in the report included ‘it is clear that the values are very much at the heart of the organisation with people making decisions based on these on a daily basis’, ‘a high level of trust in leadership’, ‘a robust performance management approach is in place’, ‘people find their work interesting, fulfilling and take great pride in what they do’ and ‘a strong commitment is in place to support learning and development across the organisation.’
Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate South Liverpool Homes. Gold accreditation on We invest in people is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places SLH in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”
