Direct Debits scheduled for Christmas Day or Boxing DayÂ
If your rent payment is usually taken by Direct Debit on 25 December or 26 December, these payments won’t leave your accounts until 27 December, when banks re-open after the bank holidays.Â
Payments made between 24 December and 1 January 2025Â
If you make a payment between 12noon on 24 December and 1 January 2025, these payments will not show up your rent account until 2 January 2025 when the SLH office will be back open. Please be reassured that we will have received your payments, however it will not show up on your account on mySLH until a few days later.Â
Worried about paying your rent?Â
The festive season can be a particularly expensive time for many people. It is important during this period to keep on top of your rent payments. If you miss payments, you will start the new year in arrears which can cause you stress and worry.Â
If you are concerned about paying your rent, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. Â
We will put you in touch with your income officer who will chat to you about your situation and put a package of support together to help you. We can refer you to our Benefits Advice team who can check that you are receiving the benefits you're entitled to and help, as well as signposting you to independent debt advice. We can also support you with the rise in cost of living through the services we offer.Â
