Published: 27 September 2024
South Liverpool Homes (SLH) is delighted to announce Paul Diggory as the new Chair of the Board.
Paul takes over from David Jepson, who stood down on 26 September 2024 following eight years on the board. Paul is no stranger to the organisation, having served on the board since 2018, most recently as Senior Independent Director and member responsible for complaints.
He is a committed housing professional with over 40 years’ experience of social housing and has held a number of high-profile positions including Chief Executive at North Wales Housing from 2000 to 2016 and President of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) from 2007-2008. He is a member of the CIH Cymru Board and a former member of the CIH Governing Body.
His career spans the local authority and social housing sectors, as well as supporting and leading professional bodies and supporting professional learning as an external examiner.
Paul said, “I am extremely proud to serve as Chair for South Liverpool Homes. Serving on the board over the last six years has given me a deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of the south Liverpool community and I’m looking forward to steering the board as we embrace the changes in the regulation of the sector.”
Anna Bishop, Chief Executive of South Liverpool Homes said, “On behalf of the SLH Board and Executive Team, we would like to thank David Jepson for his valuable service to SLH over the last eight years, especially the last four as he took up the role of Chair. He has helped steer SLH through a period of significant transformation, and leaves the organisation well placed to fulfil the ambitions we have set out in our five-year corporate plan.”
“We welcome Paul’s leadership and expertise at an important time as we prepare to meet the challenges faced both within the sector and the wider environment. His extensive experience in the housing sector will continue to be an asset to SLH as he takes over the reins as Chair. He cares deeply about the communities of Speke and Garston and is a champion for tenant involvement; ensuring that the tenant voice is heard and that as an organisation, we hear and learn from what they tell us.”
