Development update: Building new homes in Speke and Garston

Published: 3 April 2024
Over the next three years, we plan to build 280 new homes across Speke and Garston. Take a read of where we are up to with our latest new housing developments.Â
Western Avenue, SpekeÂ
A planning decision is imminent for the redevelopment of the derelict shops and apartments on Western Ave, plus two houses on Hale Road. The redevelopment of the site will include a purpose-built shop and 8 one-bedroom apartments for over 55’s for affordable rent.Â
It is anticipated that demolition of the existing buildings will take place during late spring 2024 and work will start on site in late summer 2024. Â
The Old Baths, GarstonÂ
Work is progressing nicely at our new development in Garston Village. 74 apartments and six retail units will be built across three separate blocks on the site of the historic Garston Public Baths. The homes are due to be completed in Autumn 2025.Â
Window Lane and Church Road, GarstonÂ
24 homes will be built on these two sites which include a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom houses, plus two bungalows.Â
Planning is due to be secured in spring 2024 and work is anticipated to start in late summer 2024.Â
South Parade, SpekeÂ
The planning application is currently being assessed by Liverpool City Council. The proposed scheme will include a mix of houses, bungalows, and apartments along South Parade, Conleach Road, Ganworth Road, and Damwood Road.Â
