Celebrate Liverpool Pride with us!

Liverpool Pride is taking place on Saturday 30 July and to celebrate, we’re hosting a Pride-themed BBQ for tenants and local residents to attend at our community garden, Grow Speke.  

Pride is all about visibility and here at SLH we’re working to promote inclusivity for all, across our communities. Join us on Wednesday 27 July at 11am as we celebrate Liverpool Pride with our volunteers, colleagues and partners.  

It will be an all-inclusive event supporting the LGBTQ+ community, and everyone is welcome to attend. Enjoy the day with rainbow themed face painting, acoustic music from Hidden Poets and a tasty BBQ!  

What’s On 

To deliver the event, we’ve partnered with Hidden Poets, who promote equality and inclusion through creative writing workshops and poetry readings. You will have the opportunity to take part in creative writing workshops and learn more about the LGBTQ+ community. 

Olive from Hidden Poets will be reading some of her work on the importance of being an LGBTQ+ ally.   

We will also be joined by local LGBTQ+ charity, Homotopia. Founded in 2004, Homotopia is a Liverpool based arts & social justice organisation platforming queer art and activism, queer safety and queer joy.  

There will be face painting for all ages – you’re never too old to wear the rainbow flag, and we’ll be firing up the BBQ too. Refreshments will be free for all attendees.
