Volunteers Week 2022: A time to say thank you!

Here at SLH, we’re celebrating Volunteers Week, as we say a huge thank you for the contributions made by many volunteers across our communities.

Our volunteers play a huge role in delivering our projects such as The Market Place and Grow Speke, as well as being an integral part of engaging tenants and residents to get involved in local activities and events.  

There are many individuals who go above and beyond to offer support and give up their time at different projects across Speke and Garston.  

But volunteering isn’t just about helping, it’s about community building and we have around 30 people of all ages who help run our community shop, The Market Place, give their time at Grow Speke as well as helping to keep the area clean and tidy by volunteering at litter pick events 

What does volunteering involve?  

When it comes to finding the right volunteering role, you need to think about what interests and excites you. There are lots of ways that you can get involved and you may be able to utilise some of your skills and hobbies along the way!
