Welcome to Get Involved – our monthly roundup of the different ways you can get involved with SLH and your community.

Coffee & Chat @ Grow Speke

Our weekly coffee and chat group is moving to Grow Speke for the summer. This Friday our resident cook, Justin, will have something cooking for you all to taste!

Come along each Friday from 22 April at 10.30am to have a chat and a cuppa.

Wellbeing Walks

Want to get more active? Join us for a short, gentle walk. Walking is a great way to increase your physical activity, meet new people and explore your local area.

Join us on:

• 2 May, 12pm at Grow Speke
• 9 May, 12pm at Garston Leisure Centre
• 16 May, 12pm at Grow Speke
• 23 May, 12pm at Garston Leisure Centre

Imagine Independence

You can do it! Want to improve your health and wellbeing, through enjoyable and interactive sessions?

As well as raising awareness of the benefits of eating well and exercising, the programme will introduce you to community gardening. You will spend time at Grow Speke where you can take part in cook and eat sessions; planting and growing; enjoy coastal walks and get involved in community projects.

Programmes start during the first week in May and sessions will be held at Reach Speke Library and Grow Speke.

Transport will be made available for people living in Garston.

Village Voices

Explore the historical villages of Liverpool. Join us for eight fascinating workshops where we will:

• Look into the history of Liverpool's villages
• Visit each location and explore the area

The workshops will run each Thursday from 21 April, 12pm at Speke Training & Education Centre.

Film Club

Film Club returns on 28 April at The Coffee Vault in Garston village. Keep an eye on the SLH Facebook page and cast your vote on this month’s film.

Redevelopment of Western Avenue: Public Consultation       

Join us on Tuesday 26 April anytime from 2:30pm til 6:30pm to discuss the redevelopment of Western Avenue.

Transform Lives Company’s flagship Give Get Go programme makes a return and it’s new and improved!
