Reach Christmas jobs fair gets 46 local people into employment
Published: 25 October 2021
Christmas came early for local jobseekers, when South Liverpool Homes’ employment and training hub, Reach, helped 46 people into seasonal roles at New Mersey Retail Park, following a successful Christmas jobs fair in Speke.
The event took place on 23 September in the Parklands building and saw a range of local employers such as Curry’s, Next, Smyth’s and Footasylum meet with over 100 local jobseekers, keen to secure roles in time for the Christmas rush. We’ve had our final feedback from employers and customers following the event and we are delighted to find out that so many managed to succeed.
As well as meeting with employers, jobseekers had the opportunity to meet with Reach’s training and advice providers to give their CV’s a final polish and work on interview prep, ensuring that they were ready to give their best.
The event was endorsed by Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Mary Rasmussen, who met with employers, training providers and jobseekers alike.
The event was a hit with those who attended, with 90% rating the day as ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’ and employers were delighted with their outcomes too. During our evaluation one employer said there was a “very good calibre of applicants”, while another said, “It was excellent, there were some real amazing candidates.”
If you missed out on the event don’t worry, because one-to-one employment support and access to local employers is our 365. If you haven’t been to Reach yet and need help getting job ready, call into Parklands Library and follow the signs for Reach. Alternatively, give us a call on 0151 28 5680 or email email@example.com
