Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Mary Rasmussen visits Reach Christmas jobs fair
Published: 23 September 2021
Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Mary Rasmussen opened our Reach Christmas jobs fair today, which we delivered in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions in Parklands, Speke.
The aim of the event was to ensure that local people in South Liverpool were able to access the seasonal opportunities available at New Mersey Retail Park and other local employers.
The Lord Mayor spoke to employers, advice providers and customers alike and, as someone with a former career in employability, had to admit that she missed the challenge and reward of helping people into work. But as she said, “I have another job now”.
Over 80 customers signed up for a slot at the event with employers such as Next, Curry’s, Footasylum and Smyth’s in attendance, while Reach’s team of advice providers were on hand to offer help with CV’s.
Thanks to the Lord Mayor for taking time out of her very busy schedule today and to the partners, employers and customers who made the event such a success. We wish everyone the best of luck in securing a great local job in the runup to Christmas.
But Reach is for the whole year, not just Christmas. If you need help getting the right job now or in the future, Reach can put you in touch with local employers and advice providers to help you get job ready.
