Here’s how you can get involved for World Mental Health Day
Published: 8 October 2020
It’s World Mental Health Day on the 10 October and this year’s theme is ‘mental health for all’. As we’re fast approaching the end of a year that’s been filled with uncertainty and sadness, taking care of your body and your mind has never been more important.
Mental health is everyone’s business and here at SLH we want you to know that it’s ok, not to be ok. There are things that you can do to keep on top of your mental wellbeing and help you cope in these difficult times.
Our employability hub, Reach, has a community of training and advice providers. Many of whom offer health and wellbeing packages and they’re on hand to offer further support, if you need it.
Transform Lives Company - OnlyYou!
Transform Lives Company recently announced the launch of their new OnlyYou! programme. This programme is for you if the coronavirus outbreak has affected you in terms of your wellbeing and you’re feeling anxious or low.
Or if you’ve been furloughed or you’re worried about job security and not quite sure how to navigate the next few months, the new programme will provide help and guidance on healthy eating and exercise as well as how to navigate life changes and focus on the future.
The Life Rooms
The Life Rooms are offering a variety of free, short Zoom courses, that you can log onto from the comfort of your own home. If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression or self-esteem or you simply want to grow in confidence, the sessions change monthly and include activities such as singing, arts and crafts, music, comedy and so much more.
You can find the activities timetable here - https://www.liferooms.org/learning-live-zoom-sessions/?s=09
For more information about either of the programmes or employment training courses, contact Sam at Reach on 0151 285 5680 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Thursday 15 October, we will be running a chocolate mindfulness session. The Transform Lives Company will host the session on Zoom next week at 10.30am. If you want to learn new ways to manage stress and anxiety and understand how mindfulness can work for you, now is your chance.
Send an email to email@example.com to reserve your spot, we’re expecting this to be very popular!
