SLH supports Home for Good
Published: 7 August 2020
It has never been more important to have a place to call home.
Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, housing associations and homelessness organisations have been working together to end homelessness across Merseyside and we’ve played our part by committing to help support the rehousing of people and families who don’t have a permanent roof over their head.
Since lockdown, those who were sleeping rough or staying in night shelters in Liverpool were offered accommodation in hotels. Many people took the opportunity to improve their physical and mental health, address addictions and start planning for the future.
Since then, housing associations have come together to identify suitable homes and people have already started moving in.
However most are moving into unfurnished properties, with no furniture, kitchen equipment or bedding. A fundraising campaign has been set up called Home For Good to help buy the basics that everyone needs to turn a house in to their home.
Here’s how your donation could help:
- £10 could buy a kettle
- £25 could buy a new duvet set
- £75 could buy a dining table & chairs
- £150 could kit out the kitchen with crockery, cutlery, pans & utensils
- £300 could buy a new fridge freezer

Your donation will make a real difference to help people settle into their new home and start their new lives.
