South Liverpool Homes supports Homes At The Heart campaign, backing Government investment in all social housing
Published: 24 July 2020
A new national campaign, #HomesAtTheHeart has launched to highlight just how important social housing is and why it should be supported.
#HomesAtThe Heart is a national campaign led by the National Housing Federation as a call-to-action to the Government to create a consensus that social housing must be at the heart of our country’s recovery following the coronavirus pandemic.
Everyone deserves a safe, comfortable, secure place to call home and investing in social housing not only makes this possible, but it boosts people’s lives by building a stronger economy. This, in turn, allows individuals and families to live well, address health and wellbeing and build prosperous communities.
During the Coronavirus pandemic the need for secure, high-quality, affordable homes and, for many, support to live in them, has been highlighted. Furthermore, the pandemic has changed many people's relationship with their home dramatically.
Becoming a sanctuary for many and a prison for some – home has never been more important than it is now.
South Liverpool Homes supports the cause
The #HomesAtTheHeart campaign is calling for housing to be at the heart of the nation’s recovery. A long-term, once-in-a generation investment in social housing that provides everyone with a safe, comfortable and affordable home can be the catalyst for social and economic recovery.
This campaign has been produced in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Housing, National Federation of ALMOs, Association of Retained Council Housing, and Crisis.
South Liverpool Homes will be sharing more information and supporting the campaign throughout the month of August, so check our social media pages for the latest updates.
