Exterior planned maintenance work to restart soon
Published: 28 May 2020
We’re pleased to announce that on Monday 1 June work will restart on exterior planned maintenance on your homes.
All planned maintenance and repair work was suspended in March due to the coronavirus outbreak. This was the right thing to do at the time to protect our contractors, tenants and the wider community. But following changes to government guidance we will begin a limited programme of outdoor maintenance work such as roofing, exterior painting and boundary walls/fences.
The Minister for Housing wrote a letter to all social housing tenants on 18 May setting out how housing associations will be working towards resuming their normal level of service. Restarting exterior planned maintenance is our first step.
All tenants included in the programme will be contacted prior to work starting to address any concerns they may have around health and safety and social distancing procedures.
Our emergency-only repairs service continues alongside our work on gas and electrical safety testing. We are working on a plan to safely resume a full repairs service including routine works inside tenants’ homes, for those who are comfortable with this happening. Please check our website and social media for updates.
We have also recently updated our repair policy to make the repairs process simpler, more flexible and more convenient. Please see here for details
