Cleaning of communal areas in flats to restart

Published: 14 May 2020
From Monday 18 May we are recommencing maintenance work to communal areas in blocks of flats, including the cleaning of communal areas and grass cutting.
In March, following Government guidance, we suspended all non-essential works to our homes which included communal grass cutting and cleaning. At this time this was the right thing to do to for the safety of tenants and colleagues.
Now that some restrictions have been lifted, and following careful consideration, we are planning for a return to communal area maintenance.
In the first month we aim to clean the communal areas and cut the grass of all 100 blocks that we own. Once this has been complete, we hope to return to our normal cleaning and grass cutting cycle.
We are writing to all tenants who live in our flats to inform them of these changes and the importance of keeping communal areas clear.
The health, safety and wellbeing of our tenants and colleagues is our top priority and we will ensure we follow Public Health England and government guidance as we resume this service.
- Colleagues will all have refreshed health and safety training in response to government guidance.
- Personal protective equipment when appropriate.
- Social distancing guidelines will be maintained between colleagues and tenants.
As government guidance about the pandemic changes over the coming weeks, we will continue to review our services to see how they can be carried out safely. Please keep up to date with any changes to the services you may receive from us on our coronavirus webpage or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
