Avela Developments completes its first housing scheme ahead of schedule

South Liverpool construction company Avela Developments completed work on its first ever housing development in Burnage Close, Speke, this week - finishing ahead of schedule.
Sixteen high-quality two and three-bedroom homes in Burnage Close have been built for housing association South Liverpool Homes, with delighted tenants moving in six weeks earlier than planned.
Avela Developments, a joint venture between Avela Services and Penny Lane Builders, launched last year to bring much needed affordable homes to South Liverpool. They started work on the development in September last year, building on three pockets of land that currently exist in the close.
Four families have moved into their brand new homes this week, partially funded by Homes England, with other families set to move in by end of September 2019.
Gerard McEvoy from Avela Developments said: “We are thrilled to deliver this scheme for South Liverpool Homes ahead of schedule. This is a high-quality, sympathetically-planned development where we have built homes that complement the existing neighbourhood setting. I am pleased to see that everything has come to fruition, especially as this is the first scheme for Avela Developments. We look forward to building on this success, with future developments already in the pipeline.”
Claire Ryan, Director of Investment & Assurance for South Liverpool Homes said: “These new homes are fantastic news for local people who are in desperate need of a place to live and will go some way to meet the high demand for affordable housing in the area. It’s exciting to see tenants moving in earlier than planned and we hope they are extremely happy in their new homes.”
“We are continuing our regeneration programme to build over 250 new homes for affordable rent, shared ownership and rent to buy across South Liverpool by 2021, helping us deliver our vision of making South Liverpool the place to be.” continued Claire.
Bonny Bennett is one of the first tenants to move into her new home, she said: “I love everything about it. I’ve never had a new build before and I’m surprised how spacious it is. Everything just feels really fresh and new and my daughter, Willow, loves the garden space. I just feel really settled here, I have a place I can finally call home."
