What is cuckooing?

Cuckooing is a crime where a criminal, or criminal gangs, exploit vulnerable people.

The most common form of cuckooing is where drug dealers take control of the victim’s home and use it to store and deal illegal drugs. It may sound a tame term, but it’s a very serious offence which, unfortunately, is happening in our communities.

The impact can be devastating on individuals, and we have acted swiftly to stamp it out and support victims.

Please let us know if you are aware of this happening in your area. You can call the Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency or call us on 0330 303 3000 where your call will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
